Engaging, fact-full, scientifically correct and … sometimes fun, Thierry’s talks are often launching pads for meaningful discussions during events. Because there is not such a thing as a ready to use talk, Thierry creates the talks on demand to fit the specific interests of the audience. However, you can be sure, that at one point during the talk the words innovation, management, economics will pop-up.

Some recent talk topics

Every organization is now challenged with the question: How to embrace these new powerful collaborative tools and models that are open innovation, open strategy, crowdsourcing..?

I try to go back to the roots of open innovation to find the answers to these questions. Why and when is it become not only trendy, but a most do for all firms ? How can we explain the endeavour to the collaborator, it’s urgency, and avoid the non-invented here syndrome? Based on historical example, I explain in which situation, big and small firms could and should embrace open innovation and how they should start the process.

What will be the future of management ?

A great convergence of organizational adaptation, technological improvement and workforce rejuvenation creates new dangers and new opportunities for the firm. With industry 4.0 what is occurring is the most dramatic change in the vertically integrated corporation since its inception. Traditional command-and-control hierarchies are giving away to better-performing networked enterprises. Does it? Or doesn’t?  From early 19th century to the present, management as changed improved several times. This presentation helps manager to understand what will be next change, and how to prepare for it. Do not worry, transformative industrial changes have happened before, you will survive the 4.0 revolution.

Economics and management of creativity

There is a strong interest towards creativity. Is it economically significant? From a management point of view, does it change the game?  Every human being has within them a creative spark, yet our organizations harness only a fraction of that latent imagination…. There are some notable exception. Firms that can be creative over a long period, who learned some tricks, processes and behaviours that make the creativity upsurge profitable for them. Beware, creativity is pervasive, it will change more than you think inside your organisation.

Each organization as to produce at its best to compete today. However, to prepare the competition for tomorrow, each organization need to innovate. Easy to say, so difficult to do. Those organizations, able to do both, are the ambidextrous organization. They have some organizational specificities. They are lead with a very specific spirit. The managerial tools used are quite specific and their business models are dynamic. How are the champions doing it? What are the deadly mistakes that caused some previous champion to fall into oblivion?
